Riika Program Experience

NEXT GREAT MAN

Transformative experience that empowers young men to unlock their full potential, fostering personal growth, resilience, and a mindset for success.

A transition that stays with a boy for life

The Riika Program is a Circumcision Rite of Passage program produced by Camp Mwanaume Ltd. It guides boys aged 13-15, with a signed consent agreement from a parent or guardian, through preparation for the rite, the medical circumcision procedure itself, in-camp manhood counselling, and an eventual graduation into manhood.

We run two tracks: a Gĩkũyũ Culture (Irua) based program, and an alternative Multicultural Rite of Passage Program that recognises and includes boys from intercultural family setups.

What sets The Riika Program apart

Vision

An empowered generation of great men.

Mission

To establish a structured character development program that guides boys on their journey to becoming the Next Great Men, founded on human and African cultural values.

Philosophy

It takes an intentional, timed, and measurable process to achieve any desired goal - being a great man is no exception.

Structured mentorship

Guided by experienced facilitators and role models who invest deeply in each boy's individual journey.

24/7 Medical Care

At the heart of the Riika Program there is an in-house physician who has become far more than a medical practitioner.

Safe residential setting

Hosted at the serene and secure Ndeiya House a calm, distraction-free environment built for growth.

Cultural grounding

Deepen the understanding of heritage while preparing for the practical realities of a modern globalized world.

Lasting brotherhood

Forge lifelong bonds with peers who share similar values, providing a support network long after the camp ends.

Responsibility & Resilience

Equip young men with the tools to handle life's challenges with strength, accountability, and maturity.

Mentorship & Counsel

The team behind the Program

Mentors and guest speakers are selected on professional achievement, personal integrity, leadership experience, and commitment to mentorship. Each serves as a guide and role model.

When to enrol

Two intakes per year

The Riika Program runs two Rite of Passage seasons each year, timed around school calendars so every boy has ample healing time before returning to class.

July

July - August Season

Tailored for IGCSE curriculum and diaspora boys, timed with the British/international school long holiday. Ideal for families returning to Kenya for the break.

Nov

October - November Season

Designed for CBC curriculum boys, aligned with the Kenyan school calendar and the Grade 9 transition from Junior School into Senior School.

A small combined window also opens in early December for both IGCSE and CBC families. Places are limited, so early enrolment is strongly encouraged to secure your son's place in the appropriate season.
